Vongole

Vongole is related to the clam, but comes from Italian waters. This oval and flattened clam is about 5 cm. The color of the shell varies from white to black and gray to yellow. Often the shell of the vongole is more white than the shell of the palourde. This shellfish is delicious in spaghetti and other pasta dishes or soup.
