White Venus Shell
White venus shells are more rounded and more convex and has a diameter of three to seven inches. The shell ranges from creamy white to brown and shows concentric lines. The lush flesh is firmer and has more salt than that of a clam, but the taste is equally fine and fruity. Because clams are rare, they are often replaced by species whose meat is leaner and less fine. These shells can be found frequently in traditional Spanish and Portuguese dishes like paella.
